Why visit Aba Huab Campsite?
• Ideally located for visiting the Twyfelfontein Rock Art site, which is amongst the most important in southern Africa.
• Well-visited and lively campsite, where you will be able to share stories and information around the campfire with other travellers.

What facilities are available?
• Campsites - variety of different sites situated along the banks of the Aba Huab dry (can be wet in rainy season) riverbank.  Total capacity is approx. 120 persons.
• Ablution blocks with flushing toilets and hot and cold showers.
• Sites vary but may have fireplaces (no grills), tables, benches, water taps etc.
• “A” frame thatched shelters (2/3 persons - suit campers looking for different experience.
• Bar with cool drinks & snacks.
• Local guides are available.
• Clothes washing service.

• Twyfelfontein Rock Art (15 mins)
• Burnt Mountain / Organ Pipes (20 mins)
• Petrified Forest (45 mins - 1 hr)

On the D3214 gravel road, 6 km from Twyfelfontein

How to get there?

From the north: Turn from the C 39 main road onto the D 3254. After about 15 km look out for a rock with 'Aba-Huab' written on it and follow the sign by turning right. After another 6 km you will cross the dry riverbed of the Aba-Huab and find the campsite on your right.
From the south: Travelling on the C 35 main road from Uis towards Khorixas for 72 km, the D 2612 forks off to the left. Follow this road for a further 65 km, then turn left onto the D 3254. After another 6 km you will cross the dry riverbed of the Aba-Huab and find the campsite on your right.
All the above roads are suited for ordinary vehicles. Caution may be required during the rainy season, as the river comes down in flood on rare occasions.
